Arroyo’s Edge: Greene & Greene Interiors 2012

image

On Sunday, April 22, join the Friends of the Gamble House for a tour of five Greene and Greene-designed houses and gardens along the edge of Pasadena’s Arroyo Seco. While the the Gamble House is a nationally recognized Greene and Greene landmark, these lesser known, privately owned houses are rarely, if ever, seen. The historic Park Place houses haven’t been opened to the public in 20 years.

This month their doors will open for the “Greene & Greene Interiors 2012” tour along Arroyo Terrace and N. Grand Avenue. All proceeds will benefit The Gamble House, which is within an easy walking distance from the five houses.

Whether for its beautiful chalet-style structures, or the mere fact that no one knows for certain when the houses will be on display again, the tour is guaranteed to not disappoint, and will surely remind us of the significance, and ingeniousness of Greene and Greene’s works.

Sun., 12p.m.-5p.m. $75 for FoGH members, $85 for non-members, $50 for Children 12 and under. 626.793.3334 x52 or gamblehouse.org/events.
