This summer head over to Pasadena’s The StillRoom for their blisssfully decadent Oyster and Clam Happy Hour. Starting at 4 p.m. a raw bar is set up on the patio, where you can handsomely sip hand-crafted cocktails, devour fresh seafood and become hypnotised by the soothing sounds of a local jazz trio, for half the price!

The StillRoom has been a local destination for excellent seafood, since opening it’s doors last December, thanks largely to owner Kassey Lloyd hunting down Anthony Bourdain’s business and creative partner Sam Goldman, who serves as the restaurant’s Head Chef.

With a tantalising menu of items such as ‘Illegal Fries’ (cooked specially in beef fat), Steamed Mussels “Sailor Style” (cooked in white wine sauce, traditionally as Sailors would eat them in France) and a fresh, daily selection of Oysters, shucked by Sam Goldman himself, you’ll find yourself an instant happy hour regular.

Not only does The StillRoom seek to enchant Pasadena locals with one of the best happy hours in town, but they dedicate their services to helping others by choosing to serve a specially chosen charity wine. ONE HOPE wines donate an astounding 50% of their profits to charities in order to help save the lives of people suffering from breast cancer, AIDS and autism. With every sip of ONE HOPE at The StillRoom, you help to fight battles for those who need it the most. What better way to relax with a glass of wine than to know you’re already making a difference?

Apart from experiencing an Al fresco lounge of charitable delights, The StillRoom’s upscale vintage lounge is perfectly suited for date nights and evening cocktails. With a crackling fireplace and a bar stocked with all things nostalgic, you’ll catch  yourself scanning the darkened corners for silhouettes in the shape of Don Draper.

With the ambience in place, the pièce de résistance is bartender extraordinaire AJ Nocita. Having studied under mixologist of the Ritz Carlton LA, AJ creates alcoholic concoctions that truly blow your mind. Just ask for the ‘fit and fabulous’ and you’ll understand our meaning.
